It’s the night before the launch of my Kickstarter for UNDER THE HALF DOME.
I’ve poured over my analysis spreadsheet, jiggered and rejiggered the rewards, gone back over every word in the Kickstarter webpages, and scaled back my goal to what Kickstarter says is the sweet spot for music, and I’m sure they have the data to back this up.
Then all weekend, I imported all of my contacts from LinkedIn and my email accounts went through each and everyone to make sure I could make a clean email blast today announcing the upcoming launch.
In making this blast, Yahoo would only let me send out a few dozen at a time, so with 1400+ contacts, notifying all my contacts took a few hours. By 1:30 or so, I was done, but was still in my PJs.
I feel so… spammy.
I’ve tallied the numbers in my personal networks, including Facebook and Google+, and adjusting for overlap, I have around 2,500 first degree contacts. That’s what you get when you’ve been in the games biz as long as I have.
Let’s hope that’s enough to get the word out and get this project funded.
Launch day will be busy.
I have a press release going out through PRWire and Marketwire, I will be preparing for my first podcast to be released on Thursday, and I’ve got to get some work done for SpaceVenture.
Oh yeah. Lost in all the hubbub, getting this blog going, the Facebook and G+ groups and drilling down into the final details launch, I failed to mention here that The Guys From Andromeda and I inked a deal for me to do music and sound for SpaceVenture.
I can’t tell you how amazing this makes me feel. I heard they were doing a game, and suddenly my creative juices started flowing again, juices which had been dorment for some time.
